What triggered the update?

“The data structures and templates were outdated and too complex.”

SHVE used SAP BPC 10.1 on a Microsoft platform for Planning, Reporting & Group Consolidation which is supported by SAP up to and including 2024.

The data structures and templates were outdated and too complex. The system design was not fit for purpose anymore.

The project aimed at providing a stable, modern, and independent group consolidation system for SHV Energy which enables the improvement of the operational efficiency in the financial departments in the Business Units as well as the Head Office.

The desire was to move to a modern environment, solely designed to meet the SHVE requirements regarding Planning, Reporting & Consolidation.

The following items have considered project SHIFT to implement SAP BPC 11.1 on BW/4HANA:

1. Optimization of processes – SHVE required redesigning and optimizing the prior structure of the consolidation tool and related processes. SAP BPC 11.1 significantly improved the efficiency of the reporting processes and the user experience.

2. System performance – SAP BPC 11.1 significantly improved performance and meets expectations related to system performance and availability.

3. SHV Energy requirements – The application redesign resulted in less complexity and is considered manageable and scalable, suiting the requirements of SHVE.
